QFSE Audit Specialist

Bob Evans Farms products are distributed nationally in retailers throughout North America. Responsibilities This role is part of the BEF Quality and Food Safety Excellence team. Reporting into the QFSE Sr. Program Manager for Audits and Analytics. This role is responsible for conducting Food safety and quality system audits of BEF facilities, suppliers, and co-packers. This role will also assist in providing technical solutions to assist manufacturing facilities in improving food safety and quality performance. The QFSE Audit Specialist will work remotely. Accountabilities Conduct Food Safety audits on supplier and co-manufacturing facilities in a variety of food processing and related environments Assess internal manufacturing facilities for GFSI audit readiness, company quality standards or similar scope Assess compliance with FDA, USDA, and FSMA regulations and guidelines associated with all manufacturing elements Capture and report noted quality and food safety data within audit reports Assist and advise Operations in providing viable corrective and preventative actions Deliver Training to associates regarding food safety and quality assurance procedures and principles Identify a wide variety of risks and escalate ‘out of Norm’ situations and non-compliances and ensure corrective and preventive actions are identified Verify timely completion of CAPA plans Assist BEF internal plants in preparing for audits. Develop and improve the BEF audit criteria and expectations and performance standards Qualifications Education Level Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education, training, and/ or experience in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Agriculture, Chemistry, or equivalent (biological sciences) required PCQI or HACCP certification required Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing facility including production and quality Previous auditing experience required (minimum of 160 hours and/or two years) Must have a thorough understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality Management Systems, and Government/Local regulations (21 CFR 110, 111, 117) Experience in a broad range of food production operations in order to assess quality assurance risk Knowledge of HACCP, food safety plans, cGMP, food quality system, sanitation, allergen control, and environmental monitoring Working knowledge of quality auditing schemes such as SQF, BRC, AIB, ISO 22000, and other benchmarked schemes Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
