The Unlicensed Social Worker/Counselor/Mental HealthClinician provides counseling to patient’s in a variety of settings includingmedical facilities, hospitals, clinics, learning centers and otherorganizations that are in need of assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Provides necessary counseling as required for thepatient/client
+ Assesses the patient/clients’ psychosocial needs, andevaluate the progress with the care team and/or supervisor
+ Collaborates with all disciplines to plan and evaluate goalsfor each patient/client
+ Focuses on assisting patients/clients through the dischargeprocess of both in and out-patient treatment facilities as applicable
+ Utilizes a variety of therapy techniques and treatment plans
+ Facilitates patient progress and referrals with otheragencies
+ Adheres to all Amergis and Facility policies andprocedures
+ Observes and reports patient/client progress per facilityprotocol
+ Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
+ Licensing/Certification according to state/facility/contractrequirements
+ The Counselor may possess an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’sDegree or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling,Nursing or other Human Development Major
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
+ Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
+ Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
+ Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
+ Computer proficiency required
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
