Quality Analyst 1 - Marine
Overview We are seeking a full-time Quality Analyst 1 for the Marine Products team in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing quality assurance activities for simple to moderately complex Garmin consumer products and/or software in a team-oriented environment. Essential Functions Demonstrate a complete understanding of quality assurance principles/methodologies and knowledge of Garmin product specifications, capabilities and operation related to the market segment being supported Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, and/or procedures of simple-to-moderate complexity, in accordance with established Garmin test procedures - including analysis, review and tracing of requirements as necessary Serve as the voice of the customer in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems Document defects in defect management system and report defects to developers and work closely with engineering to assist in problem resolution Collect and analyze test results and beta user feedback (when applicable) Communicate product and/or project status to internal customers and product owners Investigate and verify issues reported to quality assurance for validity and reproducibility Verify software modifications in new software versions to prepare for implementation Assist in test case maintenance as necessary to keep repository current Participate in the definition and documentation of process improvements Train and mentor new quality assurance associates Participate and assist with the coordination of release deployments Perform system analysis techniques and procedures to determine software functional specifications for Garmin products Basic Qualifications Associate’s Degree OR a minimum of 2 years equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) Relevant experience or training in product and/or software quality assurance processes and methodologies Must possess superior organizational/analytical skills, be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, can work independently with minimal supervision, and can exercise sound independent judgment Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Desired Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5) Previous experience developing and executing tests related to a Garmin core product market Relevant experience or training in creating test plans, conducting usability tests and/or writing test scripts is preferred Experience or interest in working with marine products Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
