Primary Purpose of Position:

Will promote a quality culture through teamwork and enforcing quality best practices.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Support the Quality and Operations teams with quality best practices. Complete startup / last article inspections Audit / Inspect and report on in-process and manufactured products. (Finished Goods, Components and Supplied items). Make decisions on the acceptability/non-acceptability of manufactured/packaged products. Use defect categories critical / major / minor to make sound business decisions. Contain all non-conforming product(s) to the last known “acceptable inspection point”. Communicate non-conformance(s) and /or trending conditions to support teams. Act as the “Voice of Quality” and facilitate solutions in “real time” with the cross functional team. Record inspection and audit results on internal documentation. Perform inspection activities reporting on process and product performance. Perform inspections of new product and FG product lots to defined AQL and sampling methods. Provide follow up and verification activities in support of corrective actions and/or process adjustments. Coach, train, and mentor the fundamentals of Quality to coworkers as needed. Follow all safety guidelines. Follow written and verbal instructions with accuracy. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.

Experience/Knowledge

Must be self-motivated and be able to prioritize issues as they occur. Basic computer and math skills, including fractions and decimals required.  Microsoft Office products – Excel and Word Able to work in SAP/PKMS database and make daily entries. Able to work well with others and be a team member. Ability to use measurement equipment: micrometers, calipers, indicators. Minimum 6 (six) months experience in a manufacturing or equivalent environment.

Technical Role Competencies

Must have good communication skills – both written and verbal.   Must be self-motivated and be able to prioritize issues as they occur. Must have accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Need to have workplace flexibility and adapt to change regarding how and when work gets done.

 

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Walk, bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, and lift approximately 95 (ninety-five) percent of work time.  Ability to work overtime or on weekends with short notice. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and walk over rough ground Willingness to work all/any shifts. Typical plant/manufacturing environment with concrete floors and moving equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
