Job Title: Quality Analyst IJob Description The candidate will be working in the Quality Lab, responsible for testing various products. Testing will include pH testing, viscosity testing, density measurements, percent solids, and weighing samples. Responsibilities + Collect and test samples of ingredients, products, or packages according to established procedures. + Monitor processes to ensure they are operating correctly and consistently. + Document all results neatly and precisely. + Label and maintain product retention samples used to monitor the product throughout the established shelf life. + Organize collected data for management review. + Maintain lab equipment in a clean and orderly fashion. + Communicate non-compliant results immediately to management. + Monitor plant for compliance with GMP standards. + Accurately weigh ingredients, colors, flavorings, and seasonings. + Test R&D samples for food safety and specification development. + Conduct other duties as assigned by the plant QA Supervisor or QA Manager. Essential Skills + Experience in wet chemistry. + BS in Science or related field. + Quality control and quality assurance expertise. + Knowledge of GMP standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications + AS or BS in a science-related field or non-degreed with one year of wet chemistry lab experience. Work Environment The candidate needs to be comfortable with the lab environment, which can be loud with strong food smells. The lab culture is very team-oriented with a family feel. The lab is small, and the candidate will work alongside a few other technicians and report to the supervisor. The dress code is casual, typically a t-shirt and jeans, and a lab coat will be issued once hired. No jewelry, watches, false eyelashes, fingernail polish, plastic bobby pins, or similar items are permitted.
