Job Description
The candidate will be working in the Quality Lab responsible for testing various products. Testing includes pH testing, viscosity testing, density, percentage solids, and weighing samples.
ResponsibilitiesCollect and test samples of ingredients, products, or packages according to established procedures.Monitor processes to ensure correct and consistent operation.Document all results neatly and precisely.Label and maintain product retention samples used to monitor the product throughout its established shelf life.Organize collected data for management review.Maintain lab equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.Communicate non-compliant results immediately to management.Monitor plant for compliance with GMPs.Accurately weigh ingredients, colors, flavorings, and seasonings.Test R&D samples for food safety and specification development.Conduct other duties as assigned by the plant QA Supervisor or QA Manager.Essential SkillsExperience in wet chemistry.BS in Science or related field.Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance.Understanding of GMP compliance.Additional Skills & QualificationsAS in science related field or one year of wet chemistry lab experience if non-degreed.Work Environment
The candidate must be comfortable with the lab being loud and having strong food smells. The lab culture is team-oriented with a family feel. The lab is small, and the candidate will work alongside a few technicians and report to the supervisor. The dress code is casual, typically a t-shirt and jeans. A lab coat will be issued upon hire. No jewelry, watches, false eyelashes, fingernail polish, plastic bobby pins, or similar items are permitted.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00
