We are excited to offer an immediate opportunity for a QEHS Manager to join our diverse team in Louisville. As the QEHS Manager, you will lead our Safety and Quality journey, ensuring these principles are integral to our culture. This role involves driving projects to establish standard processes, managing quality tasks, and enhancing safety in our manufacturing operations. You will handle customer complaints, analyze root causes, and perform daily quality tasks. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about OSHA, committed to meeting all Safety Standards, and hold a black belt in Six Sigma for Quality.
Job ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
• Implementing QMS Standards: Ensure compliance with Danfoss HEX and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Handling Customer Complaints: Create 8D reports and manage customer issues with precision.
• Driving Quality Solutions: Address daily quality issues using a 4-step process, involving all stakeholders in containment actions and root cause analysis.
• Championing Continuous Improvement: Challenge the status quo and contribute to innovative improvement activities in our manufacturing sites.
• Developing Quality Procedures: Create and modify quality procedures, metrics, and processes to achieve quality and on-time delivery goals.
• Leading Corrective Actions: Drive corrective and preventive actions for timely and effective resolutions, focusing on high-impact issues.
• Communicating Effectively: Ensure clear and effective communication and reporting to internal and external customers.
• Managing QEHS Functions: Improve KPIs, including Customer and Supplier PPM, scrap, rework, and related metrics.
• Ensuring Safety Compliance: Implement and meet all OSHA requirements and safety standards.
• Overseeing Safety Policies: Plan, implement, and oversee safety and environmental policies in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Promoting Safety Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs, promote safety awareness, and validate training effectiveness.
• Conducting Audits: Identify and address environmental, fire, safety, and health hazards through comprehensive audits.
• Investigating Incidents: Facilitate the investigation of accidents, injuries, and near misses, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
The ideal candidate possesses these skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of five (5) years in a Quality/Safety role within a plant-manufacturing environment
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in a management role
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and demanding environment are required
• Extensive experience leading / facilitating complex 8D’s.
• Self-driven professional capable of setting direction with peers for a Quality Roadmap
• Black Belt in Six Sigma
• Experience/knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulatory environments
• Experience/knowledge of behavior-based safety principles and practices
• Workers’ comp, incident management, and root cause investigation experience
Additional Desired Personal and Working Experience:
• EHS-related licenses, certifications, and/or membership in EHS professional associations are desired.
• Manufacturing management experience is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to organize, conceptually interpret, and clearly communicate material developed collaboratively via the input of multiple parties; translate complexity into actionable
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex change efforts and to drive results through the creative use of facts and quantitative data, as well as influence, persuasion, and relationship management
• Demonstrated ability to translate strategy to action; Influence, negotiation, change mgt, and presentation
• Able to identify problems and leverage a structured and disciplined methodology to identify root causes.
• Ability to bring clarity, structure, and actions to ambiguous plans and challenges.
