Job description

JOB DETAILS

Base pay range is $23.00-24.00 per hour 

Shift: 1st - 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday-Friday (overtime assigned as necessary)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Quality Technician conducts detailed inspections of fabricated parts, in process control inspections. Conducts audits of packaged, staged and loaded shipments to insure compliance with Ply Gem quality requirements and specifications.

Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environmentResponsible for monitoring, inspecting, and reporting all assigned activities and finished goods to insure qualityAbility to submit clear, concise, and accurate reports of inspections, audits, test results, job site visits and delivered goodsAbility to conduct tests using a variety of tools and equipmentResponsible for preparing daily quality control activity summariesAbility to assist in developing and implement objectives, plans and priorities to achieve quality control objectives in a timely manner to meet deadlinesCommunicates with Quality Manager on methods and problem-solving procedures to successfully meet deadlinesAssists and periodically delivers internal external auditsMaintains continuous improvement practices in work areaMay be assigned additional projects or duties as designated by Team LeaderAbility to complete and present basic Root Cause analysisInspect all incoming raw materials per inspection planRecord and maintain receiving inspection resultsCompletes first article quality reportsIn-Process Verification of calibration tools for all inspection test equipment and toolsMaintains gage calibration database and recordsPerform product test and records results during product manufacturingEnsures adherence to production practices and product quality standardsAssists in the documentation of and resolution of nonconforming material and process discrepancyEvaluate product to determine if they are acceptablePerform start-up and changeover audits to verify that the product will meet specificationsProficient at using Microsoft office Qualifications

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend documents including but not limited to policy manuals, safety rules/programs, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and simple correspondence, in addition, the ability to communicate information effectively one-on-one and in small group situations and settings is required

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform general mathematic calculations including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, and divisionSome positions may require advance mathematics

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to perform work instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form a must. In addition; the ability to solve problems, which involve multiple variables in a standard situation, is required

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Must have a high degree of concentrationAbility to work effectively to meet deadlinesAbility to work with a diversified work forceAbility to read different measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, protractor, micrometer)

Work Environment:

The employee may be required to enter areas that are near moving mechanical parts, with occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals, and extreme cold or heatThe noise level in the work environment is considered moderate, and may require the use of hearing protectionThe employee will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when accessing certain manufacturing areas: hard hat, gloves, welding jacket or weld bibs, safety glasses, welding hood and earplugs

The US base pay range for this full-time position is $23.00 per hour to $24.00 per hour + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
