Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products. Inspects materials, parts and products at different stages of production. Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
Perform all duties in a safe and orderly manner. Actively engaged, involved, and current in SWO process; Participate in safety meetings and safety tours. Ensure production of products consistent with established food safety, sanitation and quality standards. Ensure product quality requirements are maintained using predetermined testing methods Perform incoming inspection and release of incoming raw materials. Monitor in-process part quality for conformance to standards, and perform and record in-process testing. Manage non-conforming materials in Manufacturing. Pro; Maintain in-process defect library. Complete visual inspection of blanks, cups, bottom stock and lids to ensure they are free from defects. Conduct leak tests on cups; Conduct critical checks of cup dimensions Perform paper testing, checking basis weight, width, adhesion, pin hole testing, dyne check, delamination, wicking, moisture, heat seal, coat weights. Perform tear downs, and ensure packaging and contents match the product specification sheet. Approve release of finished product for storage and shipping, and dispose of defective product. Notify supervisor and/or group leader of problems that arise that are beyond the scope of the QAC’s duties Maintain 5S in assigned area by keeping work area and equipment clean and orderly. Once qualified, instruct and train other QAC’s. Communicate with oncoming shift about any issues. Actively participate in daily team production meetings – communicates key items within the plant environment on safety, quality, maintenance, production and continuous improvement Fulfill overtime requirements necessary to ensure production requirements are met. Perform miscellaneous duties, as assigned. Assist in other areas or perform other duties, as assigned.SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Solid computer experience, including Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Access and Excel and other critical computer applications Prior quality experience in manufacturing very helpful. Ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment. Demonstrated organizational skills and detail orientation. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to follow verbal or written instructions. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation. This includes: Standing and/or walking for extended periods of time, up to 12-hours; Lifting up to 50 lbs. to a height of 3 feet; Pushing blank carts weighing up to 1,500 lbs. (2-person job); Visual acuity and depth perception; Working in various temperatures & humidity levels. Ability to train on day shift for 10 – 12-week period prior to going to shift.
