Job Description:At Regions, the Quality Assurance and Performance Engineer focuses on managing, tracking, and analysis of system performance to ensure software meets standards and end-user requirements. This position is responsible for the design and conduction of regular performance testing to evaluate the production readiness of software applications.
Primary Responsibilities
Creates effective test data provisioning strategies, developing custom solutionsProvides leadership and mentorship for performance engineering processes, tools, and best practicesFosters collaboration and participates in the QA Engineering Community of Practice, a technical platform that enables knowledge sharing, cross-collaboration, standardization, and innovationDiagnoses, tracks, and manages performance issues to resolution in testing and production environmentsServes as a subject-matter expert (SME) on methods of integrating testing best practices into the application development lifecycle to successfully reduce friction, identify potential problems early, and improve cross-collaborationProvides summaries and assessments of the application’s performance, emphasizing trends over time, conducting deep dive analysis when necessaryProcures, compiles, and conditions test data as needed to properly simulate test scenariosDesigns, scripts, configures, and runs performance tests to validate production readiness of software applications and infrastructure for stability and performance against Non-Functional RequirementsCoordinates Testing ActivitiesRequirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field and five (5) years working as a Performance Engineer or related experience with high-traffic, large-scale distributed systems, client-server architectures on-prem and cloud, and software application development or test automationOr High School Diploma or GED and nine (9) years working as a Performance Engineer or related experience with high-traffic, large-scale distributed systems, client-server architectures on-prem and cloud, and software application development or test automation

Ability to dissect multi-tiered systems and track data flow throughout an entire application stackExperience with other tools and frameworks such as HP LoadRunner, Splunk, Fiddler, Dynatrace, JMeter, Hammer, Performance CenterKnowledge of application scalability and performance tuning (Web-based, n-tier, MQ, CICS)Understanding of performance analysis and testing processesEffective communication and leadership skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsThis position must be within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building with the primary location being Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions associates who work remotely.
