Job Title: Quality Assurance Lab Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Lab Technician to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. In this role, you will be responsible for adhering to health and safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and ensuring all laboratory practices are conducted with precision and accuracy.

ResponsibilitiesFollow all health and safety policies/procedures, GMPs, and wear required PPE in the warehouse or production areas.Adhere to food quality and food safety standards as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements.Ensure products conform to specifications outlined in the SAP system by conducting analysis on raw deliveries, syrup batches, and treated water.Maintain accurate and legible records of all tests and retests performed.Complete required reports such as work orders and action reports in a timely manner.Collaborate with all departments to improve quality, increase efficiencies, yields, and eliminate out-of-specification or damaged products.Startup lines accurately and timely by pre-confirming flavor, carbo-trol/flow mix settings, and product parameters.Conduct chemical and physical analysis on raw and intermediate processing materials, including packaging materials, to determine their status.Complete flavor changes accurately and timely by pre-confirming flavor, carbo-trol/flow mix settings, and product parameters.Evaluate finished products against current standards by performing audits to monitor all aspects of finished product and packaging integrity.Check process control parameters to ensure proper equipment application and operation by performing secure seal, closure torque, and seaming checks.Ensure accurate test results by maintaining the proper operation, cleanliness, and calibration of laboratory equipment.Maintain laboratory cleanliness at all times.Utilize free time by assisting other technicians or production personnel, filing, preparing reagents, photocopying audit sheets, checking held products, emptying reference samples, reading micro plates, checking inventory supplies, and overseeing repacks.Complete special projects and other reasonable duties as assigned by Lead Hand or Management.Communicate with the technician coming on shift of any issues affecting product or scheduling, clean all equipment and benches used for your line, mop the floor if needed, and wait for your replacement before leaving the laboratory.Essential SkillsProficient in chemistry, laboratory practices, and quality assurance.Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Food Science, Quality, or a related discipline.Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.Ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis.Knowledge of microbiology, quality control, and GMP.Experience with batch record maintenance.Proficient in Excel, Word, SAP, and PowerPoint.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertification in quality systems (GMP, HACCP, SQF) is ideal.Ability to analyze and solve problems, results-oriented.Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to change.Work Environment

This position operates in a lab/manufacturing environment with a shift schedule of Monday-Friday, sometimes having a Friday off, from 6:30am-4pm. The role involves continuous standing or walking, moderate visual and sensory attention, and repetitive work. There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, and accuracy demands.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.00/hr.
