Quality Assurance Manager

Our Global Government division, headquartered in Washington, DC, deploys cutting-edge technical expertise for federal agencies such as the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the United States Coast Guard (USCG).

ABSG Consulting is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager.

What You Will Do:

Review project plans and procedures, providing expert guidance in the implementation and monitoring of project and system quality Provide quality assurance and quality control expertise in the oversight of FRA-funded major capital transit projects Assist with all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; conduct audits and reviews/analyze data and documentation Review project sponsors’ quality management plans and supporting documentation to ensure projects are being built safely on budget, on schedule, within scope, and in conformance with applicable regulations and guidelines Administer the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan Lead the development of project quality plans, establishing procedures for monitoring the work, checkpoints for quality assessments, procedures for managing nonconformances, and procedures for achieving project acceptance Provide regular updates to project management regarding project performance and any outstanding issues Implement a system of documentation for tracking project performance and the resolution of any quality issues

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

Minimum 10 years of quality management experience on large projects, with at least 3 of the 10 years as Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Manager in Design, Engineering and Construction of passenger rail or related transportation modes  Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, Construction, or field related to quality management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Background/training in instruction and procedure development; product quality monitoring; inspection techniques; and inspection data management Experience in setting up at least one quality management plan or system for an agency or significant revision of an agency’s existing plan or system Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) or Certification, Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) required

Location: This role will ideally be located in the Washington, D.C. area, but we are open to the position being remote.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to a manager, director, or executive-level position and does not have any direct reports.
