Kleinfelder's looking for you!  Step into Your New RoleKleinfelder's Ruchmond, VA office is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) with experience in Highway Construction Management primarily in the Design-Build arena. The QAM is the key individual responsible for the management and coordination of the Quality Assurance (QA) organization on Design-Build projects and will report directly to the Design-Build Project Manager (DBPM). The QAM is responsible for:Managing the QA program to independently monitor the Quality Control (QC) process by examining the QC data and provide independent proof in verification of the QC sampling, testing and inspection records in accordance with relevant contract documentsReporting directly to the DBPM and shall have the overall responsibility to monitor the compliance and adherence to the established Quality Management Plan (QMP)The QA inspection and testing of all materials used and work performed on the Project including monitoring of the Design-Build Contractor's QC program by providing an independent verification of the QC processCoordinating and managing internal and external audits of the quality processes, including but not limited to designer, design sub-consultants, contractor, sub-contractors and suppliers as determined The qualified candidate will:Be a Licensed Professional Engineer or capable of being licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia Have Construction Management and Highway Construction/Infrastructure projects experience, including but not limited to; inspection; testing; systems integration; power and communicationHave 10+ years of related experience, 3 - 4 years project related experience and knowledge of
 applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations requiredHave a minimum of 2 years coordination/supervisory experiencePossess excellent communications skills and the ability to identify and communicate - orally and in writing - with a wide range of stakeholders including contractors, VDOT personnel, government officials, inspectors, and the publicHave the ability to identify potential projects/clients, and market our servicesPossess a driver's license and the ability to commute to projects when requiredPossess a working knowledge of the current software programs utilized in the industry The QAM shall perform the following services to include, but not limited to:Lead and direct project Design-Build Quality Assurance efforts in accordance with VDOT's Minimum Requirements for Quality Assurance and Quality Control on Design-Build and P3 Projects July 2018Developing and publishing project QA/QC PlansConducting audits, inspections and testing in validation of the QC PlanVisit the project on an as-needed basisManaging and coordinating QC & QA materials testingPreparing the project materials notebook in accordance with VDOT requirementsMaintaining and coordinating appropriate staff for observation and inspection of workDocumenting QA activities and assuring that QC documentation meets appropriate standardsAssuring that all quality documentation is deposited in the project Document Management SystemPrepare Non-Conformance Reports when appropriate and make recommendations for resolutionManaging and supervising all nonconformities affecting quality of productsCertify that the Work shown on contractor's monthly pay application is complete and meets relevant contract requirementsMaintaining an awareness of safety and health requirementsAssuring that offsite plant inspections are performed by the appropriate entityCertify that the project has been constructed in conformance with applicable standards and specifications Move Forward with KleinfelderKleinfelder has been connecting great people to the best work since 1961.
