The position assumes full responsibility for the operation of the Quality Assurance Department, and procedures necessary for the Plant to comply with governmental related regulations. Executes Quality projects or investigations in support of plant operations. Ensures the Quality objective of maximum operating efficiency of the plant and facility by the effective allocation of Quality Department resources and communications between other supporting management staff. Some of the responsibilities include:
Maintain Food Safety program and ISO programs for facility including internal and customer auditsManage capability studies and prepares reports on the resultsConduct vendor audits when requiredEstablish and maintain good relationships with customersTrending reports on various data to assist production departments with preventative indicatorsResponsible for assuring adequate working conditions and appropriate quality equipment and supplies.Assist Corporate Engineering and Customers in Quality plan developmentEffectively support, coach and develop staff members
Qualifications
Minimum of three years’ experience in manufacturing, preferably in plastics or QA, with increasing roles of responsibility.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Bachelor’s Degree, and knowledgeable in the Quality field or 3-5 years’ experience is required.Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.Managed a team of five or more for 3-5 yrsStrong understanding of SPC.Strong experience with ISO.ASQ certification is a plus but not required.Must be able to wear protective clothing as hair net, uniform, steel toe shoes, bump cap and ear plugs. Hot and cold, noisy environment, with odors. Experience with GMP's required and various organizations such as ASI, and AIB/SQF preferred
