The Quality Assurance \/ NDE Examiner will support the Safety and Missions Assurance Support (SMAS) Contract supporting NASA at Stennis Space Center. \n
\n

RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nIndependently evaluate, select, and apply standard SMA engineering and assurance techniques, procedures, and criteria. Areas to be worked may include, but are not limited to NASA SSC Engine Testing, High Pressure Gas, High Pressure Water, Cryogenic, and Component Processing \/ Testing Facilities. \nProvide contractor surveillance of contractor's quality system procedures, technical products, and manufacturing work instructions to ensure compliance with NASA requirements. \nPerform quality inspections and periodic surveillance on processes and documentation for compliance with NASA Policy, SSC Directives, and Work Instructions and implement corrective action request. \nResponsible for the surveillance of assigned Quality Assurance (QA) activities to determine compliance with applicable requirements and specifications; conducts audit and reviews\/analyze data and documentation.\nProvide support to Pressure Systems Manager in assuring compliance with NASA, ASME, and other national consensus standards for pressure systems and vessels. This includes interaction with a variety of low- and high-pressure gas and liquid systems (e.g., Nitrogen, High Purity Air, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Helium etc.) along with cryogenic liquid systems.\nPerform pressure systems and vessel component level verifications, in addition to NDE inspections. Candidate will prepare written reports of examination results.\nMaintain current, company and customer training and certifications. Specifically, SMA STEP 1 and NDE Level II certifications.\nWork as part of an integrated team with Bastion Technologies and NASA SMA personnel to resolve surveillance and examination result questions and communicate technical issues to project engineers to ensure compliance.\nOther duties as assigned. \n\n

REQUIRED:\n
\n\nThis position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.\nMust have 5+ years of recent and related work experience.\nCandidate must be able to meet the minimum recommended requirements per SNT-TC-1A in a minimum of 3 of the following methods: \n\nVisual Testing (VT) Level II\nMagnetic Partial (MT) Level II\nPenetrant Testing (PT) Level II \nUltrasonic Testing (UT) Level II \nRadiography Testing (RT) Level II (Digital RT experience is desirable)\n\n\nMust be knowledgeable in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements.\nPossess the ability to read complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.\n\n
\n

DESIRED:\n\nThe ideal candidate will have a familiarity with NASA Quality Systems and procedures.\nKnowledge of SSC rocket engine testing or aerospace related experience.\nPreferred candidate will have Certified Weld Inspector (CWI), and additional NDE Certs are beneficial.\nExperience with pressure vessel or piping systems inspection.\nExperience reading Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)\nExperience in creating written reports for inspections\/S&MA surveillance assignments.\nCandidate should be comfortable with adapting to changing environments (work assignments, customers) quickly in support of the mission. \n\n

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:\n

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nMust have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.\nAll of Bastion's employees must be team players. \nAble to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.\nAble to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.\nMust have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.\nMust be organized with good time management skills.\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). \nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).\nRegular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.\n\n
