**Position Overview:**
The SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory¿s Contactor and Quality Assurance Division has an exciting employment opportunity for Quality Assurance Program Manager.
As a member of our Quality Assurance Team, you will support assigned project(s) by developing, implementing and executing effective quality assurance practices to mitigate quality risk ensure compliance, and to meet project requirements, and you will also participate improvement of SLAC¿s quality management program. You will partner closely the specific project management team(s) to provide required Quality Assurance support and performance. You will be responsible and accountable for ensuring the flow down and application of the SLAC Quality Management Program requirements integration within the project(s).
Additionally, you will assist in identifying and developing the necessary quality control practices to specific aspects of the design lifecycle, procurement, manufacturing or delivery of services, test, and initial operations of the deliverable assets or facilities of assigned projects. Job activities may include all of the following of project/program quality planning, cross-functional business and production process development, process implementation, assessing and implementation of corrective actions and improvements.
The Quality Assurance Manager reports to the Quality Assurance Deputy Director.
**Your specific responsibilities include but not limited to:**
+ Work closely with SLAC and Partner lab scientists, engineers, and technicians to implement quality assurance principles in project planning and governance policy, design life cycle, systems engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, receiving, inspections, construction, installation and commissioning processes.
+ Function as the central contact for QA on assigned projects and provide appropriate support and coordination to complete mandated quality assurance deliverables on time and within budget.
+ Communicate effectively across the SLAC organization¿s directorates and divisions to promote a risk based graded approach to QA.
+ Review engineering documentation to determine quality requirements. Reviews supporting manufacturing documentation to ensure that it contains the necessary QA and QC criteria and provisions to permit effective inspection and/or testing of materials and assemblies.
+ Participate in the review and disposition of non-conforming material. Initiate Corrective Action and Preventive Action processes and oversee the organization or project through completion of such actions.
+ Perform assessments, inspections, or audits at SLAC, Partner Labs and suppliers in accordance with established quality plans and contractual requirements.
+ Conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs as required. This may require the following activities: walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, scaffolding, using fall protection and using other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces.
+ Establish trend analysis of performance metrics, identifying appropriate actions to correct and drive needed quality improvements, establish commitments and follow-up.
+ Review the trends of issues on purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the supplier.
+ Develop and champion the improvement of industry accepted systems engineering procedures and processes.
+ Ensure project adherence to document control processes and methods related to systems engineering, design management, in addition to quality assurance.
+ Provide quality-related support and technical assistance to other groups within the laboratory as required.
+ Participate SLAC initiative of the Quality Assurance Program improvement to include participation in cross-lab assessment teams.
**To be successful in this position:**
+ Bachelor¿s degree in physics, Engineering or related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience including the following:
+ Quality assurance and/or quality control in an engineering or manufacturing setting.
+ Quality Management System or substantive business process improvement implementation consistent with most commonly recognized ISO quality system standards or Six Sigma methodologies.
+ Demonstrated expertise/capabilities in quality process improvement, 8D/RCCA/CAPA analysis, and quality controls.
+ Developing, implementing and maintaining quality management system or quality controls.
+ Ability to work and communicate effectively with multi-functional teams, and across multiple locations. Strong team collaboration skills are needed.
+ Able to work independently.
+ Experience in construction management and or implementing construction quality control plans for green field, existing large-scale facility upgrade or projects in support of infrastructure designed and built to deliver science and research facilities is a strong plus.
+ Experience with Design Build, or Design, Bid Build contracts as the customer or the contractor is a plus.
+ Expertise/certification in quality and Lean Manufacturing, is a plus.
+ Certification in and experience as a Certified Quality Manager or Lead Auditor in ISO 9001 QMS or similar standards is a strong plus.

The expected pay range for this position is $116,000 - $170,000 per annum. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
