Summary You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the QUALITY BRANCH OF THE NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST (NDT) DIVISION OF THE QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR. Responsibilities You will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the division Quality Management Plan. You will develop and execute surveillance, audit plans, schedules, and attributes to sample and evaluate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technical and administrative operations conformance to procedural, technical, and quality assurance requirements. You will use statistical analysis techniques to evaluate effectiveness of inspection systems, detect trends, and identify areas for improvement. You will develop and maintain procedures for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) programs. You will be the point of contact for internal and external audits (e.g., Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Government Inspector) and correspondence with higher authorities for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) programs in their area of responsibility. You will develop and maintain training plans, course content, training aids, mock-ups, schedules, and exams. You will test and certify production NDT inspection personnel and other command personnel with inspection qualifications to ensure that they are competent and qualified to perform NDT inspections in accordance with applicable requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting quality assurance audit and surveillances in support of maintenance or repair for of ships or submarines to identify operational or procedural deficiencies and recommend corrective action to ensure shipbuilding material meets quality and certification requirements.
