Ecolab, the leading global developer of premium cleaning, sanitizing and maintenance products and services for the hospitality, institutional and industrial markets is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist who will be responsible for ISO and regulatory documentation as well as analytical testing that will be used for product validation and compliance. In this position you will also perform quality testing, maintenance, and calibrations of the instruments in addition to assisting in the development of new test methods as needed.

What You Will Do:

Assist in the implementation and administration of the quality oversight program and proceduresProvide training and guidance in the application of standards and industry best practicesReview quality documentation for compliance to the quality programConduct audits and inspections to verify that project services and deliverables meet quality program requirementsLiaise with all relevant parties, internal and external, during quality audits and inspections.Manage and report on non-conformities, corrective and preventive actionsReport quality metrics on a regular basis, the frequency of which is to be determined, and contribute to continuous improvement and Lessons Learned activities.Assist in defining leading indicators.Assist in maintaining the productivity and organization of a busy production laboratoryMaintain Standard Operating Procedures and make recommends for their improvementParticipate in scientific discussion and critical thinkingAssemble test materials and equipment to expedite test proceduresPerform laboratory testing under the supervision of scientists and project leadersRecord test results accurately and concisely in a laboratory notebookAssist in analyzing and interpreting experimental dataMaintain clean and safe work facility

Position Details:

Plant Location: Mississauga, ON (Eglinton/Tomken)

Minimum Qualifications:

B.Sc. degree in an applicable field2 – 5 years of experience in quality assurance, regulatory, ISO, or GMP or related fieldKnowledge of ISO and GMP standardsKnowledge of laboratory practices, scientific terminology, and the characterization and preparation of materials used in routine and special procedureImmigration sponsorship not available for this role.

Experience in a lab environmentProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsA high attention to detail and quality in resultsMust be able to establish and meet deadlines to produce independent results, while building a network of resources in the companyMust work well with other team members, including design engineersAbility to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

The position involves working in a quality lab and production as well as working in an office setting.Work is carried out in a plant and lab environment with exposure to disagreeable elements of the plant such as noise, and occasional exposure to chemicals. The role may be exposed to extreme temperatures and may be exposed to chemicals.From time to time, the position may be required to lift/carry 20 pounds.
