JOB OVERVIEW + Manage Training program focused on food safety and food quality topics. + Act as liaison for internal audit program. Monitor and perform analysis on non-conformances generated by internal audit program and present to upper management. + Request back up documents from approved supplier. Evaluate received documents for food safety and food quality related information. Qualifications DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES + Strong focus on delivery and results + Assists in the preparation of SOPs for new and existing products developed. + Report food safety and quality issues to Plant management and SQFP + Follow PIM Brands GMP rules. + Monitor fellow employees for adherence to GMP’s. + Develop and Delivers GMP and SQF trainings . + Facilitate evaluation and approval of new and existing ingredients . + Help manage policy and procedural deployment in the areas of quality . + Support internal audit activities by conducting facility inspections in the manufacturing facility and follow-up on corrective actions . + Review records, inspect documents for accuracy, and maintain documentation manuals (i.e. , request and follow-up on supplier documentation, etc.) to ensure they are up to date . + Perform statistical analysis regarding online data collection . + Develop analytical , and quality control metrics . + Generate reports to be presented to the management team . + Assist QA department in organization and maintenance of quality documents as well as special projects as dictated by QA Manager + Ability to work additional hours as needed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and crouching. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls. Lifting and moving of objects weighing at least 15 lbs. Reasonable accommodation will be evaluated and considered to enable an individual to perform the essential job functions. WORK ENVIRONMENT The job will generally be performed in the laboratory or office desk. When on the plant floor it is representative of a large, busy manufacturing operation. Noisy, active, objects on the floor, constant movement and traffic flow of motorized equipment. Hair net, beard net, assigned work uniform, protective eye wear and gloves are among the GMP required apparel that must be worn, if indicated, on the plant floor. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING + BS degree in Food Science required, advanced degree desired and encouraged. + 1-2 years in the food manufacturing industry is preferred. + Basic skills related to chemical analysis, food processing and project management are a must. + Knowledge of raw materials and ingredient functionality are essential. + Proficient in office software (Excel, Word, Office) + Must be able to perform mathematical functions. + Effective communication skills are required as well as effective presentation and follow up skills. + Demonstrated proficiency in supporting and communicating technical information to all technical production team. + Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) language skills a plus + Strong initiative and analytical skills
