QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST
Summary You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the Compliance and Quality Department, under the supervision of the Quality Control Inspector (QCI) Division Branch Managers of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Responsibilities You will read, interpret, and understand blueprints and specifications to identify product characteristics and process requirements. You will act as a key stakeholder and process Subject Matter Expert (SME) in developing Inspection Plans (IP). You will observe task sequence, procedures, and methods to verify alignment to the process plan and technical requirements. You will review work documents prior to release, and upon completion of work to verify all processing and documentation requirements have been fully executed. You will inspect, test, or measure products for conformance to technical requirements. Respond promptly to production requests to complete Quality Verification tasks. You will document issues warranting root-cause analysis and corrective action in the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system of record (i.e. ERAR). You will perform process surveillance to support program managers and process owners to verify effectiveness of corrective actions and process improvement efforts. You will provide training and assistance to Artisan Verifiers (AV). You will review proposed Quality policy changes and provides feedback to optimize the Quality Management System. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing analysis by reviewing sketches, engineering drawings and data, pertinent specifications, and available equipment to identify characteristics critical to product acceptability. 2) Conducting inspections and audits of materials, products, processes, and services for conformance to specifications and requirements. 3) Analyzing data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality or verification program. 4) Preparing technical reports documenting inspections, testing results, or deficiencies and recommending corrective action.5) Monitoring Explosives Ordnance Certification Program and serving as a member of Explosive Safety Committee.
