Quality Assurance Supervisor

The Quality Assurance Supervisor will directly supervise and oversee all Quality Assurance related activities within a brand new 300,000 sq foot facility slated to open in Spring of 2025.  This role will be responsible for adherence to quality and food safety standards, including training, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing product complaints, and providing corrective actions.

The Supervisor will work directly with Distribution Center Manager and other site leaders to address any quality related issues and will carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, Federal, State, and local regulations that govern our business.  

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:

Provides leadership and direction to QA Specialist along with providing support to warehouse management staff to ensure required product quality and food safety.  

Ensures proper protocols and procedures are developed, implemented and enforced in accordance with regulatory requirements, including state and federal guidelines. 

Supports Quality Assurance systems to satisfy internal and external customer requirements to include process evaluation and risk assessment, Food Safety Plan/HACCP, GMP, sanitation programs, and product storage and distribution practices. 

Supports internal and external audits. Conducts regular inspections to ensure compliance.

Responsible for generating hold-release forms, placing product on hold in SAP, releasing product in SAP, and maintaining hold logs for the distribution center.

Provides QA support for rejected loads including investigating incidents and providing product dispositions.

Assists with disposal of product to ensure proper destruction steps are followed and the off-grade dairy product requirements are met.

Maintains quality and food safety records. Performs record review and implements corrective actions as necessary.

Ensures proper calibration and maintenance of temperature recording devices.

Investigates and resolves quality issues and customer complaints through collaboration across all warehouse functions and manufacturing.

Trains and instructs employees regarding quality and food safety standards and processes. 

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations.

Adheres to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.

You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have The Following Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a science-based area (ex: Microbiology, Food Science, Dairy Science) of study preferred, or a minimum of 2 years in a lead role, preferably in dairy food manufacturing.  

Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices. 

Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures. 

Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies. 

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, LIMS application, SAP preferred.   

Excellent verbal/written communication skills.   

Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.  

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 

Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.   

Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.   

Ability to select, lead, coach, influence, motivate, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees.  

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

Ability to understand cost containment and budgetary principles. 

Ability to work flexible hours including weekends in support of warehouse operations. 

Demonstrates professionalism and positively represents and promotes Saputo at all times.

Ability to work in manufacturing and warehousing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.

Physical lifting up to 40-lbs unassisted frequently throughout the shift.

Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, and following approved chemical handling procedures.

Good visual acuity with the ability to distinguish colors. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Fine manipulation and hand dexterity, including ability to grip and squeeze; handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms

Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), to include bump cap, hearing, and eye protection.  This also include additional PPE requirements as defined for the position activities.

salary range: $70,050 - $91,950

salary offers vary commensurate with experience, skills, education, and training
