Quality Assurance Tech - 2nd Shift Department: 630 Quality Assurance Location: Lincoln, NE Start Your Application (https://apply.hrmdirect.com/resumedirect/ApplyOnline/Apply.aspx?req\_id=2432617&source=2432617-CJB-0) **Job Summary:** The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician is responsible for performing quality assurance duties to support plant operations. They ensure that standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved by monitoring cleaning and sanitation procedures and conducting product testing. The QA Technician reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor for direction, interpretation, and evaluation. They are responsible for maintaining and guaranteeing SensoryEffects- Cereal Systems' quality and safety standards. **Responsibilities:** - Work with the Production Manager to monitor and document the safety and quality of raw and finished products. Report any deviations from quality of service that may become a potential liability. - Provide proper forms and control samples to shift leaders and operators as needed for production. - Assist and monitor cleaning and sanitation procedures. Support research and development (R&D) projects. - Perform QA testing during the course of production, including moisture, sensory, and granulation analysis. Resolve all quality problems. - Monitor the timeliness and completeness of QA procedures and documentation, such as equipment line clean-outs, Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) duties, Critical Control Point/Control Point (CCP/CP) procedures, etc. - Ensure all paperwork is complete accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring it complies with company standards. - Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including personnel, safety, and equipment maintenance and upkeep. - Become proficient in areas of production and safety policies and procedures, such as accident/injury reporting, bloodborne pathogens, confined spaces, emergency evacuation, equipment operation/maintenance, hazard communication, ladders, lockout/tag-out, personal protective equipment, etc. - Perform other duties as assigned. - Handle conflict professionally and contribute to building a positive team spirit. - Give and welcome feedback. **Qualifications:** - Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Food Science is desirable. - Two to four years of experience in a production facility in quality control is highly desirable. - Strong motivation, organization, time management, documentation, and communication skills (both written and oral). - Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritize. - Strong work ethic, punctual, dependable, and trustworthy. - Ability to utilize common sense and skills in completing responsibilities and operating equipment conforming to company production, personnel, and safety procedures. - Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. - Ability to write correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees. - Proficient in conflict resolution in a professional manner. - Ability to contribute to building a positive team spirit. - Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and periodically more utilizing safe and proper lifting techniques and equipment. - Specific vision abilities required to perform the essential functions of the job, such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. **Working Conditions:** - Adherence to personal protective equipment policies and procedures is required. - Regular exposure to wet or humid conditions. - Continual work near moving mechanical parts. - Periodic work in high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme cold (non-weather). - Regular exposure to extreme heat (non-weather). - Continual exposure to high noise levels. - Regular exposure to vibration. - Work on feet for 70-100% of the time, occasionally sitting. - Use hands to finger, handle, or feel for 70-100% of the time. - Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling using proper ergonomic principles. - Ability to talk and hear for 70-100% of the time. - Regularly taste or smell for 50-70% of the time.
