White Castle is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician at our Zanesville, Ohio location. The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for quality assurance inspections and laboratory analyses required by White Castle System Inc. to satisfy White Castle, USDA, Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point Program (HACCP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a clean environment and with daily exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, smoke, cleaners, and other elements;Ability to wear safety gear including safety glasses, and other various types of safety gear supplied by the company;Frequent periods of standing and walking;Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and lifting to 20 lbs. unassisted;Ability to work well with co-workers in a physically close environment; andAbility to hear, comprehend and professionally respond to co-workers inquiries, comments and concerns.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree in Biology, Chemistry or Food Sciences preferredMust have a minimum of 3 years of previous quality assurance experience in the food industryHave adequate knowledge of safe lifting procedures, “lockout/tagout” procedures, and proper safety proceduresCommunication skills and the ability to work well with others and U.S.D.A Inspectors are a mustFamiliar with USDA regulations and directives and the HACCP, SSOP, GMP and SOP programs preferredKnowledge of proper procedures for handling chemicals and laboratory safety proceduresFunctional knowledge and experience using laboratory grinder, babcock shaker, food processor and other equipmentGood basic math skills and able to write clearly and legiblyProficient computer experience with knowledge of Microsoft Word, E-mail, and ExcelMust have knowledge of FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP requiredAbility to stay focused and accomplish multiple tasks independently with little supervision and within established timeframesAbility to successfully complete on-the-job training; andMust be flexible to work hours to meet the needs of the plant, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
