Job DescriptionTo assist the Quality Assurance Manager in the implementation of the overall Quality System at AFNA site.
This position works 11 hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off/3 on 3 off rotation.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
Perform verification testing as specified in the appropriate specification and/or other means as appropriate.Record test results and file QC records. Quarantine non-conforming material, and notify Production Supervision of non-conforming products. Organize for daily MRB meeting.Document and control sample retain and retain storage for future reference in case a quality concern would arise.Audit job data and release product from quality inspection.File Hold Tickets and Specification Deviation Request as applicable.Assist Quality Assurance Manager in implementing and maintaining the most effective and efficient procedures for optimum quality assurance.Assist in maintenance of adequate quality records.Assist in training personnel in inspection methods and quality requirements.Review necessary documentation at shift huddles.Assist manufacturing /engineering in conducting process capability and control studies (SPC-Statistical Process Control) to assure product quality.Maintain the measurement device calibration system and perform calibrations as required by the system, assist in Gage R&R studies.Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment: attend required training, identifies and reports hazards; wear required PPE for position; and is accountable for self as well as co-worker safety.This position supports the Quality Assurance Manager’s responsibility for ensuring product is produced to specification and nonconforming product does not ship out of the facility. A considerable impact can be made in regards to : Customer satisfaction, by ensuring effective and timely responses are given to customer inquiries and complaints; Product quality, by ensuring that inspection plans are followed and any deviations are noted; Profitability, by ensuring #1 and #2 above are accomplished.This position is responsible for ensuring that verification testing is completed and if material is found out of specification the material is bound and quarantined.This position is responsible for ensuring calibration records are generated and retained appropriately, and the quality records such as inspection sheets, job jacket, etc. are retained appropriately.WHAT WE VALUE

A high school diploma or equivalency is required.1-2 years of experience in the packaging industry is a plus.Minimum of 1-2 years experience as a quality technician is required.An employee in this position is required to regularly stand, sit and walk. In addition, this position requires considerable manual dexterity for use of testing equipment, computer keyboard and mouse.
