What You'll Do Perform sampling and testing functions of the Quality Assurance laboratory to support the Melt Shop and Rolling Mill Use a large array of hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and test equipment Cut, prepare, and inspect samples from all rolled products for dimension, weight and workmanship at the rolling process Use gas/oxygen cutting torches and various power equipment to proccess and test steel samples Perform data entry of test results and inventory into computer systems Detect and report nonconforming material and deviations from specifications to supervisor Prepare and load billets for outside customer shipments Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture Ability to troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others  Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area What You'll Need Minimum 1 year of of experience in either an operations and/or manufacturing environment required Previous experience in Quality Control preferred Ability to read and operate measuring instruments Experience with QMOS, and SAP Preferred Able to work well and efficiently in teams and cross-functional activities Basic computer skills such as familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required Must be able to work rotating shifts which may include days, nights, weekends and holidays Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs Ability to work with exposure to extremes in temperature, chemical, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces Capable to perform the physical requirements of the job (lift 35-50 lbs) Strong communication skills required. Must read, speak and understand English language in verbal and written communication Your Education High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
