Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician/Assistant to join our team at our St. Louis, MO Milling location. As a full-time Laboratory Technician/Assistant, you will be part of a team that works on daily testing of incoming wheat and various mill flour products and will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitized work environment.  

Responsibilities: 

Moisture, Ash & Protein estimation 

Particle Size Testing 

Falling Number and Color grade tests 

Mixograph / Glutograph 

Maintenance of laboratory equipment 

Rapid screening of Vomitoxin & Food Allergen testing 

Microbiological testing 

Assist with plant sanitation issues 

Assist with customer inspections & be able to perform internal auditing of the programs 

Various other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

Associate Degree in a Science related field preferred 

Two years of experience in Quality Control 

Formal Laboratory qualifications are preferred 

Micro-biological experience an asset  

Certification in HACCP, GFSI scheme audits such as SQF, BRC, ISO etc. is desired 

Work 2nd shift (3pm – 11pm) plus OT as needed. Work 1st shift if needed at times. 

Good communication skills, both written and oral 

Understanding of technical procedures 

Ability to solve problems
