Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and recording room temperatures, performing fat analysis of ground beef, and verifying daily scales. Additional duties include performing routine quality checks on in-process and finished products, assisting with pre-operational and operational checks, and supporting the FSQA Manager with the development and maintenance of the SQF System. This role ensures food safety and quality by taking appropriate corrective actions and supporting new product development.


ResponsibilitiesMonitor and record room temperaturesMonitor and record fat analysis of ground beefPerform daily scale verificationMonitor butcher and grind metal checksPerform routine quality checks on in-process and finished productsAssist with pre-operational and operational checksAssist FSQA Manager with the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF SystemReport any potential food safety and/or quality issues to management immediatelyTake appropriate corrective action to ensure the integrity of the SQF SystemInitiate and release product/equipment holds for non-conformances or pending micro analysisComplete all relevant food safety training including HACCP, internal Auditing, and SQF training coursesImplement and maintain HACCP based food safety plansEnsure all documents are controlled and records are keptSupport operations with new product development and realizationConduct regular quality inspections of products using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and coordinate measuring machines
Additional Skills & QualificationsExcellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectivelyStrong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsKnowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is an added advantagePrevious experience in food safety or quality control is preferred, but not requiredHACCP certification is a plusIntermediate to advanced computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookDetail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standardsAbility to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment

The role operates in both a laboratory and an active food manufacturing facility, including temperature-controlled environments. This position offers the opportunity to expand and grow within the team, with potential for early conversion based on fit and experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00
