Quality Assurance Technician

Position Summary

Thales is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician, whose objective of the position is to perform quality assurance and quality control function that supports the Hardware Quality Assurance team. 

In this position, the primary responsibilities relate to Hardware Quality Assurance tasks in conformity inspections, test setup inspections, compliance assessments in manufacturing operations, and support of the Quality Control teams in Receiving, Receiving Inspection, and Shipping Inspections.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Collaborate with cross functional team members (Purchasing, Operations, Engineering, Warehouse, QC Inspection, etc.). Support Corrective Action evaluations and verifications.Perform containment of nonconforming or suspect products and support related investigations. Represent the Quality Assurance department in various production floor meetings (manufacturing, warehouse, QC Inspection, etc.).Perform duties related to Quality Engineering, Receiving, Receiving Inspection, and Shipping Inspection activities. Become a Thales ODA Inspection Unit Member when requested. Become a customer delegate related to the Quality Control and Inspection role when needed.Utilize design drawings to evaluate First Article Inspection reports for assemblies. Inspect components, assemblies and laboratory test setups in accordance with design drawings or test procedures based on the guidelines or drawings that have been provided to them.Perform process audits/assessments of manufacturing production lines and related processes per the instructions given (Receiving, Receiving Inspection, warehouse, Shipping Inspection, Shipping).Revise procedures, forms, inspection instructions, and create status reports. Communicate the status of tasks and objectives (via written or verbal means). Organize document records.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1-4+ related experience ORHigh School diploma/GED or Technical School graduate with4 years working in an industrial manufacturing environment and working in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control departmentPerformed process and/or quality system auditsExperienced with the proper use of mechanical inspection tools (caliper, ruler, scales, etc)Understands how to read two dimensional drawings and how to perform process audits and assessments.

Special Position Requirements

Schedule: Core business hours, Monday - Friday, may be required to work outside core business hours including weekends, based on business needs).Physical Environment:  Manufacturing/production area, enclosed warehouse.Travel:  Approximately 10% (typically traveling to the Orlando Florida facility).

What We Offer

For CA/NY Applicants: The anticipated TTC range for this role is $66,762.00 – 99,554.30 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
