Job Description

This position will give you the opportunity to build on your academic skills and gain valuable hands on experience in a manufacturing environment.  Our Quality Co-Op will support various engineering activities in product development, field service, product quality, productivity improvement and engineering or technical innovation. 

 

Responsibilities:

As an extension of our team, you will gain experience in a collaborative and diverse learning environment; participate in various projects by working on cross functional teams and support our plant to include but not be limited to:

Assist in the day-to-day support of engineering operations for assigned departmentLearn and understand the engineering operations in assigned departmentAssist in troubleshooting quality issues and implementing corrective actionsDevelop and implement solutions for quality issues for consumers.Interface with plant Engineering, Production, Quality and Planning teams, as well as outside technical support vendorsIdentify improvement opportunities, develop solutions and review with Senior Engineering LeadConduct Design of Experiments; create reports from learnings and present data to stakeholdersRun laboratory tests on product returns and design test fixtures as needed.Assist with product reworks and organize plant inspections.Compile, prepare and present data for project updates and technical presentations to plant leadership and/or managementAssist in 50 first programs for new product launches.Other projects as assigned

QualificationsMust be have a Bachelor's or Masters in Engineering. Preferably Mechanical EngineeringMust be able to work a minimum 40 hours per week. Must be willing to rotate through different business departments and locationsProblem solving and troubleshooting skillsKnowledge of formal problem solving methodologiesAble to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Knowledge of MS Word software; Excel spreadsheet software; SAP inventory software, & MS Outlook software
