Quality Compliance Engineer UPM
Description The Quality Compliance Engineer ensures that products and processes meet established quality standards by identifying opportunities utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies. The Quality Engineer also fosters a “quality culture,” in which all employees become actively engaged in guaranteeing quality across all facets of the organization. Perform all additional duties as requested by the Quality Compliance Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Responds to all incoming customer survey requests + Responds to all incoming compliance survey requests (CMRT, CBAM, RoHS, etc.) + Ensure compliance requirements and regulations are addressed in the company documentation + Communicate any compliance changes to affected departments + Supports sales department with technical needs and customer documentation requests + Identify, investigate, and report compliance issues, irregularities, and violations. + Coordination with SQE and Lead Auditor to correlate requirements with ongoing oversight of suppliers and all UPM facilities + Develop and maintain compliance performance metrics + Assist with customer quality system requests and approvals + Support sales with certification and compliance requests + Support quality team with internal and/or external audits + Support the quality team with supplier audits, assessments, or issues as needed + Foundational understanding of specification technical requirements, including flow-down of additional specifications and requirements. + Working knowledge in applying ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485, and NADCAP + Assist with inspection tooling calibration management + Assist with the identification of the testing equipment and documentation providing traceability and calibration frequency + Back up and support the SQE + Perform periodic audits of suppliers and subcontractors + Assist with the ongoing assessments and approval of subcontractors + Fill out and respond to compliance survey requests + Assist as needed with compliance audits + Fill out and respond to customer survey requests + Assist as needed with customer and regulatory audits + Maintain a full understanding of United Performance Metals' Quality Manual, Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions: How they relate to AMS, ASTM, AISI, AS9100 and ISO-9001 Requirements + Continued education and training in compliance applications, industry requirements, and supplier focus activities + General housekeeping in accordance with the quality expectations + Assist as needed with internal and external audits + Initiate and manage improvement projects to streamline processes by applying lean principles as opportunities for improvement and risks are identified + Other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications and Experience + Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) with 2 years of related experience and/or training + Certification and/or equivalent educational/work experience (ASQ preferred) + Audit Training Certification + Preferred experience and knowledge base of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems standards + Preferred Six Sigma Greenbelt Our employees enjoy our great benefits! + Competitive Pay & Bonus packages + Paid Holidays + Health/Vision/Dental packages at low premiums + 401k Match + Tuition Reimbursement Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
