Quality Control Analyst
Job Title: Quality Control AnalystJob Description The Quality Control Analyst will perform routine qPCR testing and support projects involving both in-process and finished product testing. The role involves working with raw materials, extracting RNA, and testing final drug products. The analyst will also monitor contaminants, maintain instruments, and prepare reagents. Training will be provided for validation tasks, speciation assays, and various laboratory techniques. Responsibilities + Perform routine qPCR testing with a 7-hour turnaround time. + Conduct in-process testing on raw materials and extract RNA from tissue samples. + Test finished drug products, including pancreatin powder. + Monitor contaminants and perform positive control environmental monitoring. + Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments. + Prepare reagents and manage inventory. + Validate basic centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and liquid handler robots. + Participate in software programming, lab space validation, and method drafting. + Run speciation assays to identify and quantify different species within samples. Essential Skills + Experience with PCR, QC, testing, and method development. + Knowledge of GMP, biology, pharmaceuticals, and environmental monitoring. + Familiarity with FDA regulations, molecular biology, microbiology, and assay techniques. + Proficiency with laboratory equipment including pipettes, centrifuges, microbalances, fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, and qPCR software. + High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; Bachelor’s degree or above in Microbiology or related discipline preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate QC Analyst: 2+ years of PCR/Micro Lab experience preferred. + QC Analyst: 2+ years of GMP experience required, 5+ years preferred in molecular pharmaceutical/GMP settings. + Sr QC Analyst: 5+ years of GMP experience required, 10+ years preferred in molecular pharmaceutical experience and GMP. Work Environment The team works around the clock with shifts available from Sunday to Wednesday and Wednesday to Saturday, including both day and night shifts. Located in a state-of-the-art facility built in 2019, with plans for a new laboratory by 2025. The team culture is laid back yet driven, with a focus on hard work and camaraderie. Training begins on the first shift and transitions to the assigned shift after the first week. Shift differentials are available for second and third shifts.
