Quality Control Chemist
Job Title: Quality Control ChemistJob Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Chemist to join our team. This role involves performing wet analyses and physical testing of in-process chemical samples using documented standard techniques, ranging from raw materials to finished DEET products. The ideal candidate will have experience with various analytical instruments and a strong understanding of quality control procedures. Responsibilities + Perform wet analyses and physical testing of in-process chemical samples using standard techniques. + Conduct testing utilizing instruments such as HPLC, GC, Flame AA, KF, and Titrations with confidence. + Interpret, compute, record, and report all test data to production and other appropriate personnel using LabWorks. + Alert production and quality management when suspect test data or deviations from the norm are encountered. + Calibrate analytical equipment as instructed by lab management. + Prepare laboratory reagents, standards, and mobile phases as instructed by lab management. Essential Skills + Proficiency with analytical instruments such as GC, HPLC, Titrations (manual and automated), Refractive Index, and Specific Gravity. + Experience with GMP, gas chromatography, and wet chemistry. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate degree in Chemistry or other Science degree preferred. + Experience performing wet chemistry in a chemical manufacturing facility is a plus. Work Environment The position is based in an older lab with updated testing capabilities, located in the In-Process lab that handles product directly from chemical operators. The lab is extremely fast-paced, performing 120 tests per shift with over 300 methods utilized for testing. The role follows a rotating 12-hour shift from 7am-7pm with monthly rotations, and training will be on the 1st shift (8:30am-4:30pm) for 2-3 weeks. Long-term opportunities will depend on the sales of the DEET product line. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
