POSITION SUMMARY: 

Vigor Works, LLC. is recruiting for a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) who also possesses a Radiography Level II (RT) certification to join our Quality Control team in Vancouver, WA. Our fabrication teams work complex projects to the tightest tolerances/requirements and apply unique solutions across a variety of manufacturing and engineering disciplines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform radiographic examination techniques in accordance with procedural/code requirements.Conduct and witness welding procedure specification qualifications and welder performance qualifications.Apply American Welding Society (AWS) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) examination code requirements to fabricated welds.Perform dimensional inspections using basic measuring tools.Ability to work independently to established Quality Control procedures.

 QUALIFICATIONS

Required: Ability to pass a background investigation for Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Energy (DoE) contracts.Required: Current American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) endorsement.Required: Documented evidence of a previous or current Radiographic Testing (RT) Level II certification.Required: Documented evidence of a previous or current Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety (IRRSP) accreditation.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts that further the company values, consistency and efficiency of people and processes within the quality department.Basic knowledge of destructive and nondestructive examinations.Work experience with AWS D1.1, D1.5 and ASME Section III, V, VIII, and B31.1 and B31.3.Ability to complete inspection reports with MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) in a clear and timely manner.Experience in a fabrication environment, preferably fabrication shop or fabrication site locations.Ability to read blueprints / drawings.Willingness to work at other Vigor Portland metro locations, as needed.

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Experience conducting and recording PQR and WPS activities, performing fit-up, in-process and final weld inspections.NDT training and experience in Radiographic testing techniquesDesired: Documented training and experience records of previous or current NDT methods (MT/PT/UT)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Physical demands of this position will require the ability to maneuver in a shop or yard assembly environment. Periods of walking and standing, climbing on ladders, scaffolding, crouching, twisting, and stooping are often encountered.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:   

Can be physically demanding in the proximity of moving equipment and cranes. Constant awareness of peripheral activity is necessary, with a mindfulness of not only personal safety, but the safety of people in the vicinity, and product and shop equipment.While in production areas may be exposed to all weather conditions, noise, dusts and odors. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
