Quality Control Inspector/Site Safety and Health Officer
**Description** **General Summary** The QC Inspector is responsible for overall quality control program. Performs inspections, assuring objectives and standards identified in the contract are met by monitoring and evaluating the Quality Program, recommending corrective actions when problems are detected, and following up to ensure that proper training and improved procedures have been implemented. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** + Conduct QC inspections for Operations and Maintenance, Safety, Fire prevention and Enviromental Services. + Inspect work performed at the site to ensure appropriate quality. + Maintain records of inspections and certifications. + Periodically review the quality control program to ensure compliance. + Examine processes for preventative and corrective maintenance; make suggestions based on findings. + Schedules/performs inspections/re-inspections to ensure problems have been resolved. + Conduct over the shoulder (work in progress) maintenance quality control inspections. + Conduct customer satisfaction surveys regarding work completed on-site. + Gather monthly inspection data, prepare and submit reports to Project Manager/ Corporate Office for comparison to contract. + Communicate with management regarding feedback from inspections and customer related issues to ensure contract compliance. + Conduct supervisor and employee training regarding company policies and procedures involving quality control inspections. + Research quality related information; incorporate information into policies and procedures. + Use the DMLSS system to extract and input maintenance records, search for scheduled maintenance orders and print reports. + The QC Inspector shall be on site during the Government’s regular working hours + Other duties as assigned **Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements** + Knowledge of mechanical systems and proficiency with standard testing tools + Ability to conduct quality control inspections + Have a background in facility operation and maintenance, construction or a related field + Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision + Knowledge of NFPA, OSHA, and Joint Commission Guidelines + Strong written and oral communication skills + Ability to use a computer and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel **Required:** + Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with Quality Control or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job + High School Diploma /GED or a Higher Degree + OSHA 30-hour General Industry Certification + Valid Driver’s License **Preferred:** + Degree in a related field + Experience with ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems Standards + Professional certifications in quality control + NFPA 101 Life Safety Code Course Certification + 40-hour HAZWOPER (29 CFR 1910.120(e)) **Work Environment** Work is performed indoors and outdoors in extreme heat and a full range of climatic weather conditions. Required to wear uncomfortable protective clothing and devices when working with hazardous chemicals. Subjected to hazardous gases, high pressure gases, hot liquids, dirt, dust, and oil/grease. Requires physical dexterity, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting heavy objects to perform duties. Physical demands include ascending and descending ladders, scaffolds, and platforms. Accessing roofs, cramped equipment rooms, and other confined spaces. + Must be able to pass background check and obtain NALAC Security Clearance. + Excessive temperatures ranging from 10°F to 120° F + Possible exposure to hazardous materials, requiring use of respirators and personal protective safety attire and equipment. + May require entering confined spaces such as ductwork, pits, and crawl spaces. + Lifting and carrying varies – dependent on location of equipment up to 30-40ft height. + Ability to push 50 pounds (maintenance equipment); ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds (supplies and equipment) _This job description is subject to change by the employer as the needs of the employer and requirements of the job change._ **We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing.** Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
