Ability to read technical drawings
General understanding and familiarity of fabrication specifications, e.g. AWS D1.1 & ASME IX, B31.3
General understanding and familiarity of NDE (MT, PT, RT, UT) methods and reports.
General understanding and familiarity of fabrication processes. E.g. Welding, cutting, rolling etc.
Oil and Gas, riser and capital drilling equipment knowledge of processes and operations.

Experience
Minimum of 3 – 4 years experience working as a QC Inspector in an SMPP Fabrication Workshop
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an engineering fabrication facility.
Valid Drivers license

Review customer QC requirements and ensure that quality control documentation for a project meets contractual requirements. Attend ‘Start Up’ meetings and assist Project Managers with project preparation.
Assisting QC Staff and others in performing quality duties and the interpretation and application of standards, codes and specifications.
Coordinate with third party and NDT companies subject to project requirements, upon request of QC Manager and or Project Manager (e.g. NDT, certify load and/or pressure tests, third party assigned by the client etc.
Prepare, update and follow up production documents (including but not limited to Welding Procedure Qualification Record (PQR), associated Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Welder Qualification Records (WQR)) subject to project requirements.
Coordinate the activity of the documentation process to meet the Project Manager’s requirements concerning the completion of the fabrication data books.
Monitor and record the calibration of measuring equipment.
Inform the project managers of any deviation regarding the contract. Ensures the correct application of quality control phase.
Ensure that all activities are carried out according to reference documentation.
Ensures that the tests, controls and inspections are carried out and that personnel have access to all required project documentation and reports.
Complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations
Collection and maintenance of the Quality Control records of the Quality Documentary system.
Implement corrective and preventive actions when a problem is raised at any level.
Manage and coordinate dimensional, visual, NDT and corrosion protection inspections activities.
Coordinate, monitor and prepare procedures for approval.
