Quality Control Lab Technician

Job ResponsibilitiesTest raw material samples from production and perform release of raw materials with appropriate documentation.Prepare 50-60 sample batches per shift, weighing ingredients, adding to batches, and cooking at appropriate temperatures.Conduct basic lab testing including viscosity, moisture, water activity, and sensory testing (taste, smell, appearance).Perform microbiology sample preparation duties as needed.Handle basic lab duties including dishwashing, cleaning, sample prep, and organization.Conduct production room inspections and final product release with all associated documentation in the CPU system and QA Logbook.Work on your feet the majority of the day with some desk work entering sample data or releasing product in the system.Essential SkillsExperience with moisture, raw materials, and QC.Knowledge of quality release processes and food science.Capability to perform sensory testing.Ability to work in a food production facility without allergies to common food allergens such as dairy, wheat, soy, and eggs.Additional Skills & QualificationsNew graduates within a science discipline or individuals with 6 months to 1 year of industry GMP experience with a high school diploma (experience does not necessarily have to be from food).Lab technician certification is a plus.Interest in working in a food production facility.High school diploma with relevant experience, or an entry-level bachelor's or associate's degree in a science-related field.
