Quality Control Laboratory Technician

The role is focused on supporting the production of high-quality intermediate or finished products, including Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, medical device raw materials, and other related products. You will be responsible for ensuring that laboratory operations comply with the highest standards for safety, cleanliness, and regulatory requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** + Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment to test raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. + Perform testing on chemicals and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) to determine stability, purity, chemical content, and other critical characteristics. + Follow established procedures and experimental protocols for testing. + Document test results and communicate findings clearly to team members and management. + Review laboratory data for accuracy and completeness. + Specialize in analytical techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, Karl Fischer, UV analysis, NIR, and others, with the ability to train laboratory personnel on these techniques. + Ensure proper sample control for all materials submitted to the laboratory. + Troubleshoot, maintain, calibrate, and perform minor repairs on laboratory instrumentation. + Manage chemicals and reagents used in laboratory activities (e.g., Buffer Solution pH, Hydrochloric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Nitrogen, etc.). + Monitor inventory of chemicals and supplies to ensure continuous availability of materials for testing. + Enter QC data into various information systems, including ERP and planning databases. + Identify and propose improvements to laboratory efficiency, instrument reliability, and workflows. + Assist in the investigation of out-of-spec (OOS), out-of-trend (OOT), and other laboratory non-conformances, including supporting root cause analysis (e.g., K-T problem analysis, Ishikawa, 5 Whys). + Collaborate in the development and implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) and monitor their effectiveness. + Update and maintain laboratory documents, including SOPs, test methods, and technical documents. + Ensure compliance with all relevant state, federal, and international regulations, including FDA, ISO, EPA, OSHA, and DEA guidelines. + Handle controlled substances in compliance with applicable laws and company policies. + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. + Be available for overtime or shift work as needed. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in a science-related field from an accredited university, or a two-year technical degree in a related field may be considered. + Zero to three years of experience in a GMP-regulated Quality Control laboratory environment is required. + Knowledge of mathematical operations related to testing, including frequency distribution, variance analysis, sampling theory, and factor analysis is preferred. + Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, EPA, OSHA, DEA). + Ability to effectively communicate results, identify issues, and contribute to cross-functional investigations. **Other Requirements:** + Flexibility to work on different shifts or overtime, as needed. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
