Quality Control Manager WFH Flexible•United States Job Type Full-time Description **Overview** Tanaq Environmental, LLC. (TEL) delivers environmental engineering, investigation, consulting, and remediation services to local, state, and federal agencies in the areas of hazardous & toxic waste restoration, emerging contaminants (PFAS), environmental compliance, and military munitions. Our primary governmental clients include the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), US Air Force (USAF), US Navy (USN), other Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), and the US Forest Service (USFS). Tanaq is a subsidiary of the St. George Tanaq Corporation, an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) committed to serving Federal customers while also giving back to the Alaskan native community and shareholders. **About the Role** Tanaq Environmental is seeking a Quality Control Manager (QCM) to oversee compliance with TEL’s Quality Control Program. This includes ensuring that all services and deliverables provided by TEL are consistent and meet federal and contract specific quality standards. At the program level, the QCM will develop/update and implement quality control (QC) policies and procedures, perform quality inspections, and take corrective action where needed. The ideal candidate will use their leadership skills, paired with quality control subject matter expertise, to drive a quality culture throughout TEL. At the project level, the QCM will work with the Project Managers to monitor project activities involved in planning, implementing the SOW, preparing all project deliverables, and working with clients to ensure that project deliverables meet their needs and requirements. Additional duties will include managing projects of less than $500,000 in value and preparing and reviewing proposals. The QCM will be an essential member of the TEL Leadership Team. This is a hybrid remote work role that can be performed from anywhere in the United States. Depending on the project requirements, the position requires an estimated travel of up to 25% annually within the United States. **Responsibilities** + Collaborate with corporate, program management, and project-level management teams to ensure consistent implementation of standard quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes and procedures. + Work with TEL management team to develop/update corporate QC polices, standard operating procedures and other QC documents that may be required. + Serve as the Quality Control Officer on Federal Contracts. Ensure that all client requirements are met in strict accordance with contract requirements. Communicate with clients regarding QC matters as appropriate. + Coordinate the reviews and approvals and assist in the preparation of project-specific QC documents such as Quality Management Plans, Contractor Quality Control Management Plans, and other QC documents that may be required, including contract-specific and project-specific UFP-QAPPs. + Coordinate with program and project management staff to ensure the implementation of the corporate QC document review process. Provide final QC review of project deliverables, including APP/SSHP, UFP-QAPP, SOPs, and field documentation (as needed). + Audit projects to verify compliance with contract requirements, QC policies and procedures and project specific planning documents. Perform root-cause analysis and develop corrective actions in coordination with program managers. + Support project management activities including the successful execution of all elements of project scopes of work (SOWs), including project execution, and the development of and adherence to project schedules and budgets. + Manage projects, estimated less than $500,000 in value, and preparation or review of proposals. It is estimated that 30% of the time will be allocated for project management and proposal preparation activities. + Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements **Required Experience and Skills** + Minimum 15 years working on Federal environmental projects for the Federal government, including 10+ years of experience managing quality control related to RCRA/CERCLA environmental restoration projects. + At least 10 years of experience conducting and managing environmental projects that include site investigations, remedial design, and remedial action, long-term operations (LTO), long-term monitoring (LTM), and final site closeout. + Federal project experience preparing project planning documents (PMPs, QMPs, Work Plans, Field Sampling Plans, UFP-QAPPs, and APP/SSHPs), and preparing project reports. + The ability to work independently and as part of a team to execute multiple assignments at various locations, providing a consistently high level of quality and accuracy. + Self-driven with ability to self-manage, take direction, and proactively run with tasks. + Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and excellent written, and verbal communication skills required. + Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with employees at all levels, as well as with clients and external stakeholders. + Organizational skills and ability to plan and manage multiple tasks. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. + Professional demeanor with a positive, solution-seeking attitude and personal responsibility. + Must possess a valid driver's license with a clear and satisfactory driving record. + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. + Must be able to obtain clearance to access military bases and other Federal government installations to perform job duties. **Education and Training** + Bachelor’s degree in any of the multi-disciplined environmental sciences, engineering, or geologic sciences is required; a master’s degree in any of the multi-disciplined sciences, geology or engineering is preferred. + Additional preferred training includes: OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) training with current 8-hour update; OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Training; and, USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) Training. Other demonstrated safety, quality, or technical training will be considered favorably. **Physical Requirements** + Must be able and willing to travel to visit job sites, attend client meetings, and/or attend professional or technical conferences **,** typically up to 25% annually, within the United States. + Must be able to work in a hybrid remote work arrangement with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and while working on a computer. + Position requires frequent (more than 50% of workday) performance of sitting and standing/walking, and keyboard/mouse operations. Occasionally (10-25% of workday) operation of vehicles and lifting less than 25-50 pounds. Rarely (less than 10% of workday), climbing stairs, using portable ladders, working in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment, and working in confined spaces. + Position will require wearing associated personal protective equipment while on a project site, including, but not limited to safety glasses/goggles, gloves, safety shoes/boots, hard hats/safety helmets, hearing protection, and respirator. **Who We Are** Tanaq Environmental, LLC.
