Job DescriptionReview and establish factory and supplier processes to ensure that they are following established inspection procedures, for example, 4-point fabric inspections, in-line inspections and final aql auditsDetermine and advise on any outsourced or freelance staff required for inspections when required in peak periodsReview customer requirements and making sure they are metManage factory audits and ensure all required complianceWork with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliersSupervise and train staff as required to ensure effective quality control procedures are in placeManage any repairs required on production whether that is in house, out sourced or at the factoryLook at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiencyDefine quality procedures and manage roll-out to all factoriesSet up and maintain controls and documentation proceduresMonitor factory and supplier performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reportsAnalyze returns due to quality issues and communicate with factories/suppliers to ensure issues are resolved and not repeated. Resolve any issues with factories and advise on solutions where necessary to fix any production problems advised

Pre-production: 

Audit inward fabric, hardware and trims and ensuring only quality components are acceptedEnsure that no faulty components are sent for production. If minor faults are present in the fabric or hardware, defects should be marked on the fabric/hardware and communicated to cutting/production departmentPrepare audit report of the fabric, hardware and trims qualityConduct pre-production meeting with relevant parties before production start

Production: 

Perform in - line inspection and end-of-line inspection on production floor of all factoriesPerform inline inspection, pre-final audit and final inspection in finishing departmentsAudit of the packed goods prior to offering shipment to buyer QAResponsible for analysis quality reports and prepare improvement planEnsure the right quality of the final product by conducting quality audits in manufacturing process

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Textiles, Manufacturing, or similarPrevious experience of working in quality control within the fashion industry preferably within denim productionSolid background in product testing and implementing testing protocolsGood working knowledge of quality assurance and quality control proceduresStrong communication and administration skills with excellent attention to detail are essentialKnowledge of factory working processes and production processes is essential to this roleGood commercial awarenessGood prioritization and organization skillsComputer skills, proficient in using MS OfficeGood problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressureAbility to travel to all factories as required is essential in order to carry out this role effectively
