Quality Control Supervisor

Weyerhaeuser's Emerson Plywood/Veneer mill has an opportunity for an experienced Quality Control Supervisor at our Plywood facility in Emerson, AK. Weyerhaeuser is seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, exceptional work ethic and a desire to continuously strive for operational excellence.

As the Quality Control Supervisor, you will play a key role in the business success of the products produced at the mill. You will lead a program that is accountable for the continuous monitoring of the quality of our products and optimization of the product and process in response to current operating conditions. You will analyze and interpret data, continuously evaluate the mill’s performance and reliability of processes/products by providing immediate feedback and recommendations on challenges and opportunities. This individual should be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision while establishing effective relationships within your team as well as production and maintenance teams.

The Quality Control Supervisor will report directly to the Mill Manager.

Key Functions

Manages the daily quality control and customer quality assurance activities throughout the operationDevelops and implements quality programs, including statistical process controlSupervises/performs product testing and proceduresAnalyzes and responds to customer complaints, including internal and external customersProvides analysis of complaint and quality trends and develops and recommends improvementsResponsible for ensuring our products meet agency standards, while maximizing production and meeting customers’ expectationsManage QC audit program and document control of plant wide SOPsImprove and maintain facility performance according to set objectives and established goalsDevelop/manage SPC program throughout operations

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $79,300 to $119,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours.
