Day-to-Day Role:
Manage the coordination and overall integration of quality control inspection, testing, and analysis Provide direction, technical expertise, and support resources Act as a subject matter expert regarding quality control processes and procedures Oversee quality inspection, testing, troubleshooting, analysis, evaluation, implementation, and documentation Review and approve proposed corrective actions Develop training and teach statistical and quality methodologies and procedures Develop inspection criteria, methods, procedures and test parameters for products and/or testing equipment Evaluate, recommend, and acquire required tools and technology Research and implement cost savings opportunities for the company and external customer Provide technical support to engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes Establish continuous improvement plans where efficiency, quality, safety, or service can be improved Mentor staff
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
Requires one of the following: Associate’s degree with an emphasis in quality control or engineering and six (6) years of related experience, OR High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of technical training, apprenticeship, trade school, military technical school, or on the job training specifically relating to manufacturing equipment and processes or quality and eight (8) years of related experience One (1) year of supervisory experience and/or demonstrated technical leadership Experience in quality processes and procedures Ability to successfully prioritize, and manage large, complex projects, deadlines, tasks, and teams Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain difficult issues Analytical experience including investigating issues, recognizing trends, and recommending solutions to non-routine complex quality issues Excellent visual and color acuity required Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions Experience using various statistical and quality methodologies including but not limited to Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical Quality Control (SQC), 5S, 8D, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), and Design of Experiments (DOE) Understand production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products
