Job DescriptionThe Quality Control Team Leader supports Facility Leadership in managing and supervising the Quality Control Team in the Facility. This leader provides leadership and administers support in the areas of food safety and quality systems to assure the production and distribution of safe, quality foods. Onsite position, split time between Allegro Coffee Roasting facilities in site locations in Thornton and Westminster, Colorado.Lead the daily operations of the QC team, including assigning tasks, providing guidance and training, ensuring all QC standards are met and safety protocols are followed. Establish a culture that prioritizes food safety and quality at the facility. Design, implement, and manage quality control programs and procedures to ensure product quality and consistency. Develop and enforce quality standards and specifications for raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products. Oversees quality initiatives by leading routine Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) walkthroughs and participating in or leading any food safety or quality initiatives. Driving teams to accountable implementation of corrective actions.Participate in the planning and implementation of Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification plan and audits.Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF and Strengthening Organic Enforcement (SOE) Codes.Implement and manage the Redzone productivity system. Responsible for creating data strategically to increase productivity on the production floor for multiple facilities. This includes adding products, production checks, and machines to the system.Review raw material and formula specifications cross-functionally for regulatory compliance.Ensures that receiving procedures for incoming and outgoing ingredients are in compliance with FSVP (Foreign Supplier Verification Program), quality and safety standards.Monitor all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and update them frequently as dictated by business needs or the USDA , including cross training Team Members on SSOPs. Act as the primary liaison for all internal and external food safety and quality issues (customer complaints, federal, state, and local compliance). Uphold all Whole Foods Market, USDA, and FDA program standards and work closely with inspectors. Oversee Pest Control Program and work with third party provider to remedy pest-related issues. Oversees labeling accuracy and maintenance of all labels printed in-house.Follow, comply with, and enforce established procedures, including health and sanitation guidelines and adherence to safe work practices. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records of all quality assurance and food safety activities with daily audits to verify compliance. Handle food safety crises, including product recalls, contamination incidents, and other emergencies. Interview, select, train, develop, counsel, and manage performance for Team Members in a way that builds and sustains a high-performing and engaged team. Collaborate with Team Member Services on Team Member relations including proper documentation, investigations, corrective actions, and resolve team concerns and/or issues. In collaboration with subject matter experts, maintains comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with, relevant regulatory rules and standards, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), USDA, HACCP, SQF, NOP, GMP, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation regulations, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Agriculture, and Weights and Measures. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in food science or a related science field or relevant experienceSQF Practitioner Certified and Preventive Controls for Human Food Training18+ months of QA facility experience within a food production environment and 6+ months of supervisory QA experience in the food manufacturing industry. 3 years’ progressive quality assurance experienceAbility to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documentsAbility to apply statistical process control conceptsDemonstrates good interpersonal communication skillsBasic computer skills; proficiency in select Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); and ability to learn custom applications.Ability to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with little supervision.Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.Ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders including Team Members, customers suppliers, and regulators. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
Must adhere to company dress code standards and PPE (personal protective equipment).Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodation. Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling. Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals. Exposure to temperatures: >90 degrees Fahrenheit. Ability to work in dry conditions. May require the use of ladders.

The wage range for this position is $65,000.00 - $117,000.00 Annual, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
