Quality Control Technician 174 Seattle

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our team in Seattle, WA. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for concrete sampling and testing on customer job sites and at various concrete plants.

What You'll Get to Do:
Travel to different job sites and interact with site personnel and other testing labs
Validate the proper components and materials are used in testing
Sample and test raw source materials according to specification
Calibrate, clean, and maintain production tools and testing equipment
Transport materials back to the lab for further testing
Troubleshoot concrete field issues
Record and report test results to management
Build and maintain relationships with employees and customers
Essential Experience and Skills:
Valid driver's license
High school diploma or GED required
Intermediate Excel skills and computer proficiency
Desire to work cooperatively as part of a productive team
Ability to work safely, and independently without constant supervision
Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather.
In good physical condition, able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., sit and stand for extended periods of me, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain
Must be able to work flexible schedule as start and finish times vary; overtime work, weekends, and nights may be required
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Quality control, manufacturing, or production experience
Experience working with ready mix concrete or related construction materials
ACI/ASTM Concrete Field Testing Certificate or ability to obtain certificate within 6 months of hire date.
Knowledge of ASTM standards related to ready mix concrete

Union Scale $32.20/ hour
Benefits through the Union for Medical, Dental, Vision and Pension.
Paid vacation 40 hours (5 days) per year and paid sick 40 hours per year per Union Contract
Employer Statement:
Paid holidays seven (7) days per Union Contract
Conditions of Employment:
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
Work Environment:
Role operations primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
