Job Summary:

This position is part of the Quality Department and will perform visual inspection of finished good parts for lasers (crystals and laser housings) and will complete documentation to verify compliance to specification.  The role will ensure conformance to requirements through the use of calibrated measuring equipment and visual inspection.  The job will also interpret part drawings & specifications and will reference company work instructions & standard operating procedures.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Inspect finished good parts for compliance to specification.

Read basic assembly drawings and schematics.

Collect and provide data required for critical part Final Inspection Reports (FIRs).

Complete Discrepant Material Report (DMR) forms for rejected parts.

Fill out and file required reports, logs, databases, forms, and documents.

Verify product identification and traceability.

Perform visual inspection of finished parts.

Generate Certificate of Compliance.

Review Bill of Materials (BOMs) for completeness and accuracy including accessories and spare parts sales orders.

Review completeness of packing lists.

Ensure shipping packaging is compliant and adequate for transportation.

Sign-off on Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) reports.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

0-2 years of experience performing in-process and final inspections preferred; ideally in a defense, automotive or aerospace business.

Experience entering data into Excel and documenting in Outlook is preferred.

Experience correctly using and interpreting basic measuring tools including weight gage, micrometer, caliper scale (linear), gage blocks, thread gages, torque drivers, and comparative standards preferred.

Visual inspection experience preferred.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Independent and can work with limited supervision and direction.

Strong attention to detail.

Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
