Quality Control Technician

Adecco is assisting in finding the right candidate for the one of our clients, in Chicago.
Reporting to the QC Lead, the Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that orders are received, inspected, packed and shipped according to the required internal standards, procedures and customer requirements within specified timeframes at our cross-docking platform. The Quality Control Technician is also responsible for escalating any quality issues to the relevant teams and tracking their progress until completion, and will contribute to the satisfaction of our customers.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Receive and organize incoming packages.
+ Visually and dimensionally inspect orders with basic metrology equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc) and advance tool like Micro-Vu (as needed) following the customer specification on the PO and MP Guidelines and recording all relevant results to our inspection app.
+ Ensure all measuring tools and gauges are used and maintained properly and report to QC Lead for any issues and uncalibrated measuring equipment.
+ Pack orders according to the packaging specification (if necessary) to ensure safe delivery to the end customer.
+ Escalate ongoing issues or any quality concerns to QC Lead, and provide/recommend solutions where possible to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
+ Create defect books to start documenting/classifying defects in order to feed our Manufacturing guidelines.
+ Create reports and attend quality meetings (including regional meetings with Supply Chain Managers) to discuss non-conformance data and provide possible solutions where possible.
+ Ensure that all rejected/pended/hold for QD orders on our hold rack are reviewed regularly and work with the PM/QRT/Customer Service to help resolve the non-conformances (both from QC fails and customer returns).
+ Review and release the required Quality documentations (e.g. CoC, MTC, DIR, etc).
+ Perform rework as necessary like tapping, rust removal, deburring, etc
+ Continually seek to improve quality processes, procedures and workflows
+ Maintain 5S in your designated work area.
+ Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members at all levels and adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
**SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:**
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledgeable of production processes and quality controls is an advantage
+ Good organisational skills.
+ You ideally (but not necessarily) have gained hands-on experience in daily visual/dimensional inspections with basic metrology equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc)
+ Able to read and write in English, and do basic arithmetic.
+ Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
+ Good written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly with a wide variety of people.
+ Must be punctual and have good attendance.
+ Problem solver
+ Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**
+ Shop Floor – Indoors/warehouse.
+ All employees need to be Health and Safety conscious. PPE must be worn when on the shop floor.
**SCHEDULE:**
9:00Am to 5:00Pm
Monday - Friday
**PAY RATE:**
$19 - $23 per hour (based on experience)
**Pay Details:** $19.00 to $23.00 per hour
