**Job Title: Welder Assembler**
**Job Description**
Welders will be responsible for the construction of safe rooms. They will be primarily welding using MIG, and eventually some TIG. The construction of these rooms will require building wall panels, welding, putting up drywall, painting, etc. The job involves using hand and power tools to measure and cut various materials. Welders will spend about 50% of their time welding, with the other 50% spent on other tasks within the shop, initially focusing on panel building. They will work in teams of 4-6 to construct these rooms and will be taught how to read drawings. The most crucial skill will be the ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch.
**Responsibilities**
+ Construct safe rooms by welding and assembly.
+ Perform MIG welding and some TIG welding.
+ Build wall panels and perform related construction tasks including drywall and painting.
+ Use hand and power tools to measure and cut materials.
+ Work off of drawings and learn to read them accurately.
+ Collaborate in teams of 4-6 to complete projects.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficient in MIG welding (must pass a weld test).
+ Experience in construction, assembly, fabrication, or a shop setting.
+ Proficient with hand and power tools.
+ Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch.
+ Comfortable reading tape measures and squares, and cutting products to size.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with TIG welding is a plus.
+ Knowledge of using chop saws, band saws, and shears is beneficial.

**Work Environment**
Work in a smaller, open-air shop with a very diverse workforce. Employees work in teams and must be able to travel approximately three times a year for two weeks at a time.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, Florida.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
