Job Description
As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for performing inspection and testing activities to ensure production materials and finished products meet established quality standards. Working under the supervision of the QC Lab Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the quality and accuracy of our processes while following documented procedures.
ResponsibilitiesPerform analytical testing using auto-titrators, Gas Chromatography (GC), FTIR, NIR, refractometers, and spectrophotometers to verify that materials meet specified requirements.Conduct inspection and testing activities to ensure both production materials and finished products comply with quality standards.Analyze and approve incoming raw materials for production, preparing Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and packaging samples for customer evaluations.Troubleshoot and address out-of-specification results and non-conformities, working closely with lab management.Follow documented procedures for the control, calibration, and maintenance of inspection, measuring, and test equipment to ensure accuracy.Prepare reagents, solutions, and standardized normal solutions used in testing and inspection activities.Adhere to company policies regarding quality, safety, health, environmental, and security systems to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access to manage testing data and communicate results.Essential SkillsBachelors in Chemistry or related fieldHeavy coursework in analytical chemistryExperience with analytical testing utilizing auto-titrators, GC, FTIR, NIR, refractometer, and spectrophotometerProficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and AccessAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with HPLC, Validation, and Method DevelopmentOrganizational and prioritizing skillsGood laboratory practicesComputer data entry skillsSafe handling of laboratory reagentsAttention to detailAssociate or B.S. degree in chemistry or related field3-5 years of quality control or laboratory experienceWork Environment
You will be working directly in a lab, reporting to the QC Manager and R&D manager. The lab is a decent size and equipped with a variety of instrumentation including GCs and NIR equipment. The work environment is family-oriented and team-focused, with flexibility around personal needs. The company values its employees and offers great opportunities to get involved in R&D. The shift for this role is from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with training on the first shift.
