As a Quality Control Technician at Waukesha Bearings, you will play a key role in the manufacturing operations and engineering team at our established manufacturing facility located in Antigo, WI. In this role you will ensure manufacturing processes, inspection methods and quality documentation meet or exceed ISO, safety and customer requirements.
This facility utilizes the latest CNC machine tools, coordinate measuring machines and precision engineering finishing processes to produce custom-engineered products to extremely high tolerances for applications in rotating equipment and turbomachinery such as turbines, pumps, compressors, generators and industrial powertrains.
* Please Note: The Antigo facility is operating under ITAR regulations; therefore, we can only recruit a current US Citizen for this role.
What You Will Bring
An associates degree or equivalent, plus a minimum of two years’ experience in quality control functions, to become familiar with products and quality control procedures A background working in a precision engineering environment, involving machining processes, metrology, and metallurgy. Ability to read and interpret complex manufacturing drawings Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances Extensive experience in use and application of inspection, testing and measuring equipment Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to clearly define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions Ability to effectively present information to customers, suppliers, management and employees Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO: 14000 requirements and procedures Be self-directed and capable of performing a variety of tasks and foster an environment that supports quality and productivity
What You Will Do
Utilize standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation of materials for in-process and finished products, create inspection procedures and develop forms and instructions for recording and reporting quality data Establish and use programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production and testing/measurement equipment Working with Team Leaders and machine operators to provide guidance and instruction on proper inspection and reporting procedures, perform inspection on in process and finished products to verify critical part features and tolerances Investigate deviations from standards and completes MRR’s and CAR’s as necessary Provide leadership on in-process and finished products to investigate and analyze causes of scrap, rework and warranty work to determine root cause Work with manufacturing engineers to modify and continuously improve processes to enhance quality, stabilize processes and/or reduce costs Maintains quality records and documentation, produce reports showing cost of quality or other metrics, analyze causes of scrap, rework and warranty work; develop/and assist implementation of modifications of processes and procedures to improve quality and/or meet quality standards at lower costs Review materials, components or products returned under warranty claims, analyzing reasons for failure and advise customer of action to be taken, visiting customer locations as necessary to gain a better understanding of customer requirements and procedures
