Job Title: Quality Control Technician (2nd Shift)Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Technician to join our team on a 2nd shift basis. This position is primarily lab-based, performing basic testing on raw materials, with occasional responsibilities in the production line/plant to inspect finished products. You will be an integral part of our quality assurance and regulatory compliance functions within our chemical manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
+ Perform basic lab tests (pH, specific gravity, viscosity, titrations) on raw materials, batches, and fill line samples.
+ Calculate batch adjustments as needed.
+ Inspect packaging lines for conformance to specifications, including fill weight, cap torque, labels, label placement, and lot coding.
+ Document test and inspection results on both paper and electronic forms.
+ Review and maintain production records and files.
+ Inspect finished goods and received components for release.
+ Investigate quality complaints and nonconformances.
+ Maintain attention to detail and professional integrity.
+ Communicate effectively with both production staff and management.
Essential Skills
+ Quality control experience.
+ Laboratory testing skills.
+ Quality assurance knowledge.
+ Computer proficiency using Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
+ Ability to read, edit, proofread, and interpret documents such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
+ Strong attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in a chemistry-related discipline OR 1-2 years of quality experience.
+ Associate degree in a science-related field with industry experience in a chemistry-related field.
+ Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO-9001.
+ Regulatory experience with FDA (medical device), EPA (pesticide registration), DOT, and OSHA is a plus.
Work Environment
The work environment includes about 70% of the time spent in the lab and 30% in the plant. The plant is not climate controlled, but the lab is. The position follows a 2nd shift schedule from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday. This is an industrial environment where effective communication with a variety of people is essential.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
