Quality Control Technician - GSE

Responsible for directing daily workflow, reviewing completed work orders, and inspecting Mechanics work. Assists in instructing mechanics on work procedures. Inspecting and identifying defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling and mechanical systems and preforms preventive maintenance and/or repairs.

Location:  Austin International Airport
Hourly Rate: $21.50 ($0.50 wage increase per year, on each work anniversary)
Schedule: 00:00-08:30, Saturday through Wednesday (Thurs/Fri off).

Main accountabilities include 

Hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical reports and preventative maintenance of equipment at fuel storage facilities/systems Monitors storage tanks and related equipment to ensure that they are in good working order to prevent spills, releases, overfills and product contamination. Performs routine and periodic inspections in compliance with company, customer, government and industry standards Conducts all work in a safe fashion by adhering to all company, customer, industry, local, state and federal safe work policies/procedures Makes required log entries QC, maintenance and completes required documentation and performs data entry Maintain records relating to maintenance Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on vehicles as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, fueling and mechanical systems Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual quality control checks on the refueling equipment Drive and operate refueling equipment vehicles Ensure our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventative care for equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment Maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures Determines the need and extent of repair work required based on operators reports and testing equipment Preforms preventive maintenance and/or repairs Performs maintenance calls on in service equipment Repairs and/or replaces parts on equipment during PMI Coordinates functions and schedule related to production, and PMI completion Communicates with the operation concerning equipment operation Maintains, orders and schedules tire replacement Reviews completed work orders Inspects and approves Mechanics work Assists in instructing mechanics on work procedures and assists in the training of mechanics Directs daily workflow Able to perform all duties performed by GSE mechanics  Basic, advanced, and general troubleshooting Use and interpret diagnostic equipment Ensure that all vehicles can pass the appropriate safety inspections Welding and fabrication Cleans shop and work area Comply with the station’s attendance/tardiness standards Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or twelve (12) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Must possess and maintain a valid US driver’s license Must pass all pre-employment testing including a physical, color vision test, audio test, and drug test Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English Ability to perform basic math calculations Must be computer literate Handle fueling carts and fueling hoses which will require lifting and move up to 70lbs Work is done primarily outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions Must pass background check and obtain US Customs seal Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays Prior experience preferred including possession of a Commercial Driver’s License or experience in the Oil and Gas Industry (preferred)

Acutely aware of safety related procedures. Position requires wearing safety-related equipment, i.e. goggles, gloves, boots, respirator, hearing protection, and back support as necessitated by a specific task. Position requires lifting, pulling, pushing, rotating, twisting, climbing of high tanks, squatting, kneeling, overhead arm movement. Must be able to occasionally handle weights up to and including 70 lbs. Exposure to related cleaning and chemical materials (review MSDS Reference Book) during routine and special cleaning assignments. This category, as stated, is not exclusive.
